Iavora Stoilova made a donation of the Prof. Vasil Stoilov’s private archive to NBU.

At the NBU Library central foyer on 28.02 – an eligible date for the family of the famous Bulgarian artist Prof. Vasil Stoilov, the daughter of the painter Mrs. Iavora Stoilova officially donated materials from the professor’s heritage to the University. The donation stands for the main goal of popularizing and subjecting to research the fundaments of Vasil Stoilov’s work. The essential contribution for the archival donation belongs to Prof. Bogdan Bogdanov, a close friend of Vasil Stoilov. Jivka Vinarova, Phd – lecturer at NBU realized an active coordination on the activity.Iavora Stoilova made a presentation of her father’s heritage, starting with a brief over introduction of the intellectual Vasil Stoilov:” That Particular University is to be regarded as an island of culture. This would be the most remarkable birthday in my father’s whole life. I brought here the suitcase, with which he marked his long journey to Paris and his way back as a great artist. I’m leaving the suitcase, full of masterpieces, hoping that his work has found its proper place. I am glad at the perspective my father to be commemorated not only as a great painter but also as a personality – a real Renaissance personality. From NBU starts the new Renaissance period. Vasil Stoilov is going to be born again. The donation list includes George Brack’ s portrait, self-portrait, and self- outline in plaster from Ivan Blajev, four notebooks from the Paris period of the artist with translations, lines, diaries, sketches, letters; preprint of book about Vladimir Dimitrov – Maistora; non-print materials on different artistic researches. Best of accessories is his non-print notebook, covering the bogomiles theme, revealing the Vasil Stoilov’s personality from entirely different point of view. There are also included unique family photos,  tjubeteika hat, accompanying the artist through his creative spirit, his ash tray, cards, ancient cupboard, the door bell from his atelier,  brushes etc. Mrs. Iavora Stoilova expressed her great excitement upon the web-page, designed to the Library web-site, devoted to her father, where the user could find picture gallery, biography notes and complete title list of the donation.
